CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards – everything you need to know about them
CEMVIN is the only traditional and purely Czech manufacturer of technical fibre-cement boards. The quality of our products is of paramount importance to us: our products are subject to strict internal controls as well as to the requirements of international standards, and we are constantly working to improve all our processes.
History of production
The history of the current production plant in Černousy goes back more than 100 years – the trading company of the founders of production, Ch. F. Christoph and Ch. R. Unmack, was first registered in the territory of today’s Czech Republic in 1891, and in 1912 construction of the halls in the municipality of Černousy started. Construction boards produced at the Černousy plant have undergone a number of innovations. From originally primarily wooden boards, production of lignite boards with natural drying followed. Production shifted again in the 1930s, as new trends and demand led to the manufacture of asbestos boards, before a further switch in the 1990s saw the creation of certified and non-hazardous fibre-cement boards.
Nowadays, when the technology of production and the composition of the final product have undergone further modern development thanks to the injection of capital, CEMVIN s. r. o. produces technical fibre-cement boards of the absolute finest quality, with unique properties on the market.
Production
At CEMVIN we are building on more than a century of production, which we are advancing through constant development. In addition, we are further expanding our production capacity so we can seamlessly deliver to a growing number of large projects and new customers. CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards achieve their excellent properties thanks to their unique technology and composition – they are made of a mixture of cement, limestone, pulp and PVA fibre in precise proportions. The production process consists of combining the production mixture, draining and pressing it, and natural drying. More about the production process can be found here.
Properties of boards
CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards have a number of exceptionally good properties and are therefore suitable for applications in various construction sectors.
- Reaction to fire class A1
The products are not only non-combustible, they also protect buildings and structures against the spread of fire.
- Acoustic effectivness
Due to their bulk density, these boards help improve sound insulation.
- Thermal storage
The superior thermal storage capacity due to the thickness of the material has advantages when installing the board as a covering layer for underfloor heating.
- Water resistance
The boards are long-term water and damp resistant, do not swell, and do not need to be replaced after flooding.
- Frost resistance
These boards are completely resistant to frost and low temperatures.
- Electric arc resistance
CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards meet the requirements of ČSN 332000-5-52 ed. 2. They are therefore suitable for both high and low voltage cables.
- Hygiene safety
No hazardous substances are released from the material of the boards, making these boards suitable for residential and commercial premises.
- Weather resistance
CEMVIN boards can also be used outdoors, resisting not only water and frost, but also other weather conditions.
- High mechanical resistance
Technical fibre-cement boards are highly resistant to tensile and bending loads, even at lower thicknesses. As a result, they contribute to reducing the weight of structures without compromising strength.
- Resistance to biotic agents
The material of the boards naturally resists mould, pests, and other biotic agents, and the surface of the boards can also be treated with Bausto GSCHRW anti-mould and impregnation coating.
- Universal surface
Technical fibre-cement boards are ready for subsequent surface treatments.
Utilisation
Thanks to their exceptionally good properties, CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards can be used in numerous kinds of construction projects. They make an excellent material for lost formwork that significantly speeds up wet construction – whether of transport bridges (CEMVIN BRIDGE) or building constructions (CEMVIN FORM). Thanks to their resistance to electrical arcing and weathering, they also serve as cable storage material (CEMVIN CABLE). With high durability, these boards are also the ideal material for staircase supporting structures (CEMVIN STEP), where they ensure high material savings. In addition, CEMVIN technical fibre-cement boards are also very suitable for dry construction – we currently offer boards for floor structures and building walls (CEMVIN FLOOR and CEMVIN WALL), besides which we are also working to test ceiling structures and ceiling panels, and are constantly looking for other possible applications.
